TransPerfect has announced that it generated USD 1.32bn in revenues in 2025, up 7% from the previous year, with traditional language services revenue representing less than 50% of overall revenue for the first time in the company’s history.

The company reported that non-translation business units (i.e., Media, Legal, E-Clinical, Consulting, International SEO/SEM, Contact Centers and Customer Support Solutions, and Virtual Data Rooms) all reported growth, in addition to “strong demand” for its localization-based services and technology solutions.

Commenting on language services revenue representing less than 50% of overall revenues, Phil Shawe, Co-CEO at TransPerfect told Slator, “Some may interpret this milestone as headwinds for the language industry, but we see it as a true paradigm shift — one that has seen us move upstream with our customers to deliver industry-specific solutions that blend language services, technology, and consulting.”

TransPerfect has continued to consolidate its move upstream through a spree of acquisitions in 2025, acquiring companies specialized in media production, design, post-production and distribution (The Mill, MPC Paris, Blu Digital Group, Technicolor Games, Bear Down Studios), business process outsourcing (H2A), technology (Unbabel), and dubbing (Omnimago, SPEEECH).

(The Mill、MPC Paris、Blu Digital Group、Technicolor Games、Bear Down Studios)、业务流程外包(H2A)、技术(Unbabel)和配音(Omnimago、SPEEECH)的公司。

Shawe told Slator, “We are bullish on Media. While AI is vastly transforming our studios and processes, we don’t see human beings leaving the scene any time soon. With our traditional studios, global footprint, and ongoing investment in technology specifically for dubbing and subtitling, we believe we’re uniquely suited to handle the localization and distribution of any type of media content that a client could conceivably require from a YouTube installation guide to a full theatrical release.”

According to the company, its proprietary technology and AI solutions were also key drivers of revenue. Licensing revenue for GlobalLink increased 18%, and GlobalLink NOW (a secure AI translation portal) reportedly surpassed 150,000 active client users. In addition, its AI Consulting services reported double-digit growth, which also “helped propel TransPerfect Legal, which continues to be one of TransPerfect’s highest-growth divisions.”

On the topic of AI and client demand, Shawe told Slator, “Our sales conversations around AI have progressed from initial scoping and discovery to integration and implementation. We are now executing more consulting engagements — in the language area specifically, our conversations have shifted from helping customers use LLMs generically to implementing industry-specific models with specialized workflows, particularly for clients in life sciences, technology, and financial services.”

Regarding growth in TransPerfect Legal, Shawe told Slator, “AI-powered automated translation for Legal has advanced significantly and is now applied in most scenarios. We still use human-in-the-loop workflows depending on the individual use case. Having made considerable R&D investments, we are nearing the point where technology makes it so our customers no longer have to choose between speed, cost, or quality.”

“We also help many of our law firm clients use AI responsibly — recent court decisions have held that running documents through public LLMs and software like ChatGPT and Google Translate can waive privilege,” he added.
